Paddy Jupurrurla Nelson

Paddy Jupurrurla Nelson (geb. 1919/1925 – 1999) gehört zur Sprachgruppe Walpiri und wurde in Napanangkajarra in Northern Territory geboren. Er lebte später in Yuendumu und spielte eine zentrale Rolle im Aufbau des Kunstzentrum von Yuendumu.
Paddy Jupurrurla Nelson gehörte zu den Künstlern, die die Schultüren von Yuendumu (http://www.abc.net.au/message/blackarts/visual/s643710.htm) bemalten, die im späeteren Verlauf von der National Gallery of Australia gekauft wurden.Die Türen von Yuendumu sind weltweit getourt sind und zuletzt in Deutschland im Sprengel Museum in Hannover gezeigt worden.
Die Künstler waren im einzelnen: Paddy Sims Japaltjarri, Larry Spencer Jungarrayim Paddy Stewart Japaltjarri, Roy Curtis Tjupurrurla und Paddy Nelson Jupurrula.

Paddy Nelson war Mitglied der Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Association. Er war mit Daisy Nelson Napanangka verheiratet.
