Nel Ten Wolde
Nel Ten Wolde wurde am 30.04.1957 in Holland geboren und lebt seit 1986 mit ihren zwei Töchtern (geboren 1985 und 1988) und ihrem Mann in Melbourne.
Nel Ten Wolde has travelled extensively in South America, Europe, Asia, North America and Australia. These travels have exerted a great influence on her work, in particular the wide open desert spaces abd the colours of South America and Australia.
In her work she aims to captivate the eye by creating a balance between the harmony of the colours on one hand and the dynamics of the composition n the other.
Australia inspires her with the colours that can only be found in the Australian bush, outback and coast, because of the brilliant light.
After several tours in the outback, she is drawn to the multicoloured desert and inviting warmth of the open space, the loneliness, harshness, droughts, winds and sandstorms.
The outback makes her feel at home. Starting from that feeling within, she is painting in her distinctive way the Outback Landscapes.
Her aim is to catch the brilliant colours and light of the desert, the dynamics of the wind and the sun, that create the landscape as it is. The brightness of the sun in the morning, the harshness in the afternoon and the soft coloured sky in the evening changes in many different colours and feelings.
Her paintings of the "outback" are a modern abstract representation of the Australian landscape.
